Student Community Service

Student Community Service Guidelines

The educational program as described in the CCAA charter states that part of the admission process includes a commitment by students to provide community service:

  • For the school year, CCAA expects each student to provide and document a minimum of 15 hours of community service. The goal is 5 hours per trimester.
  • Community Service can only be earned during non classroom/curriculum time (e.g. recess, lunch recess, before/after school, lunch helpers, peer tutors etc.).
  • Service may be provided at community events or for non-profit organizations. Students should be careful that their community service benefits the community at large and NOT personal family members, neighbors, or businesses.
How you describe an activity goes a long way towards making it count.  It is the family's responsibility to record hours earned, including dates, # of hours and descriptions.
